Raymond L. Newkirk, Psy.D., Ph.D., Ph.D., I.O.M. is an internationally respected coaching & consulting specialist. A person of varied interest, Ray is an entrepreneur, executive, educator, published author, speaker, mentor and internationally ranked athlete. He has earned advanced degrees and certifications in several disciplines including the Psy.D. in Professional Psychology and Ph.D. with Distinction in Human Science, and the dual Ph.D. in the Philosophy of Science and Behavioral Science. Currently, Ray is a doctoral candidate in Theology from the University of South Africa. He is the originator of the Ulthule approach to human performance and is a recipient of the more than 50 international commendations and awards of recognition including the Winston Churchill Medal, and the International Order of Merit. Dr. Newkirk was a nominee for the International Peace Prize, United Cultural Commission and Knight of the Confederation of Chivalry, World Parliament. He is an Eminent Churchill Fellow, Winston Churchill Medal of Wisdom Society & Eminent Fellow, The Wisdom Hall of Fame.

His professional background in consulting, coaching, and strategic management includes a distinguished career in multicultural research, diversity, and executive development. He has presented the Keynote Address to audiences around the world. Upon his visits to Europe, the press frequently interviewed Dr. Newkirk about trends in management and emerging technology. He was a nominee for E-Learning Executive of the Year and invited to host a weekly two hour radio talk show with a focus on management trends.

He is the Founder & CEO of the Systems Management Institute, a firm that applies human systems design to the building of Peak Performance organizations, and was Founder and Chairman of Bay University, an E-Learning Company. He has enjoyed a life-long interest in business and enterprise incubation. He founded his first company at the age of 16, a janitorial service with three employees and has organized start-ups & joint ventures in management development, information systems, career-design, recruitment, training & education. Early in his career, he founded ODHM, Inc., a consulting company that interfaced small companies with state & federal agencies to offer selected benefits competitive with those of larger companies.

Dr. Newkirk is an experienced executive having served for companies in many diverse industries as Director of Sales, Director of Executive Development, Vice President of Marketing, Vice President of Information Services, Vice President of Human Resources, President and Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Vice-Chairman, and Chairman. Dr. Newkirk was a Senior Fellow of the Monterey Bay Management Group. Among other appointments, Dr. Newkirk has served as Chief Operating Office of Mindmaker, Inc. of San Jose, California, President and Chief Operating Officer of P.Q. Information Group, b.v. the Netherlands, and President of the International Association of Information Management. Ray redesigned P.Q. Information group as a cluster organization, installed a Capability Based Environment (CBE) training approach, introduced a work skills training process, and conducted Leadership Effectiveness & diversity training.

Working at the highest levels of business and government, Dr. Newkirk led significant initiatives in the Middle East for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in the Far East for the Office of the President, Republic of the Philippines. Dr. Newkirk has also led operational engagements for Southwest Bell, Bank of America, and Dell Computers where his projects contributed to Dell’s growth in revenues from one billion dollars to more than eighteen billion dollars in three years. In 1992, the Chairman of the CNN World Business Development Congress in Washington D.C. invited Dr. Newkirk as a VIP Priority Guest. In 1991, Dr. Newkirk was invited to participate as a visiting Ambassador in Business Development and Technology Transfer to the Soviet Union. He has been invited to participate in other international development conferences in Cairo, Egypt and Oxford, England. For Technology Transfer, Rome, I.B.C. London & Amsterdam & S.I.B.C. Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, he conducted seminars and workshops throughout Europe & Saudi Arabia focusing on productivity and performance improvement, leadership, quality, I/T management, and workplace diversity.

Dr. Newkirk is a prolific writer having produced more than 400 articles, monographs, books, elearning courses, and other publications. His latest book, Leading by Design,is available through the Systems Management Institute Press or Booklocker Press. His next book, Paleo-Leadership, advances a fresh look at leadership thinking and establishes the foundation for a new science of Leadership. Dr. Newkirk is the author of the Newkirk Library Series of Ulthule Management which will be released over the next several years.

His experiences are as eclectic as they are broad. He advocates the intellectual, physical, and spiritual development of the person. He studied philosophy as a Benedictine Monk in Italy, and studied theology with the Franciscan Friars in Washington D.C. He participated for many years with the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) both as a competitor and supporter. Early in his athletic career, he attained international ranking in Olympic Weightlifting having won 12 championships and set 22 competitive records. He won Outstanding Weightlifter Award, Ohio State A.A.U. A few of his many records still stand today. Currently, he is in training to compete in the Masters World Championships and is the reigning Pacific Weightlifting Association Masters Champion where he is still in the business of chasing records. As an amateur explorer, he went dividing in the Red Sea, mountain climbing in Alaska, worked as a deck hand on Dutch freighter, sailed in the Bahamas, and enjoyed deep-sea fishing in the Caribbean, among other global adventures.

Dr. Newkirk is an innovative social thinker with primary concern for the elderly, orphaned, and the disadvantaged. He is concerned about the problems facing the elderly in this technological and fast paced age. In this regard, Ray conducted workshops for senior citizens & executives on health, nutrition, and stress management. Established a health clinic and medical network for the elderly. Currently, Ray is actively working to reduce the isolation of the elderly in nursing and retirement homes. Dr. Newkirk also contributed to the establishment of an orphanage in the Third World, funded fellowships for students in Eastern Europe to travel abroad and participate in seminars and professional training, and established a Southeast Asian International Fellowship.
